The March for California’s Future kicked off with a bang on Friday, March 5, when more than two-thousand supporters rallied in Los Angeles and Bakersfield, holding signs, shouting slogans, and cheering. The lively official send-off of seven “core walkers” making the 48-day trek from Bakersfield to Sacramento was joined by the California Federation of Teachers, the lead organizers of the march, as well as representatives of untold other labor organizations, faith leaders, community organizers, and working families.
